A charming and useful small ivory thread spool, made in Canton around 1850.
Finely carved around the edge with birds, butterflies and flowers. Carved top with leaves and flowers.
The top unscrews, a small amount of thread is put inside and comes out of the aperture in the centre of the lid.
Good condition.
