EXQUISITE LITTLE REGENCY CASKET FORM PINCUSHION
This exquisite little pincushion is a real find. It dates to the early 19th century, probably around the reign of George III/George 1V and in amazing conditon.
The little pincushion which is in the shape of a casket, stands only 2cms high x 5.5 cms long.
It has some weight as it was probably used as an emery which cleaned the steel pins used in those days. The sides and base are still covered in the original attractive marbled paper and the top is covered in a dark brown silky fabric with green paper corners, two of which have gilded strip.
Little sewing items of this age and good condition are becoming very rare and difficult to find.
